2 Quick Trips

The family is home for a mere 18 hours so I thought I’d get a quick post up this evening.  We spent the past two days over at the coast at my aunt’s beach house.  We had good food, spent some time with the family, hung out on the beach making sand castles and flying kites.  It would have been nice to have been able to spend a bit more time over there, but it was kind of a last minute jaunt.  Oh yeah, I got a nice run in too–5.8 miles in 51 minutes.  Not bad for not having run in 2 weeks.  I’m a little bit sore in my hip pointers from running the last 2.5 miles on the sand.  But I felt good, had fun, and am looking forward to the next run!  That’s a step in the right direction.

Next up on Pam’s 8 days off is our first camping trip of the summer.  We’re heading up to Timothy Lake for a quick weekend trip.  Pam’s running her first 50 mile race and I’m watching hanging with the kids.  Wish us both luck!

By the way, thanks for all the positive feedback and comments you all have left over the past few weeks.  They mean a lot to me and inevitably they motivate me both to write and to live the lifestyle that I write about.
