After today, some of you will be half way through the Get Fit Slowly one hundred pushup challenge. Kind of hard to believe, isn’t it? Here’s the schedule for week three:
I’m not halfway through, yet, but week two has gone well for me. I’m confident that I’ll complete today’s exercises well and am looking forward to tomorrow’s exhaustion test. Here’s the chart if, like me, you’re doing week two:
(If you’re starting or repeating the first week, go here.)
Remember to rest at least 120 seconds between each set. It’s fine to rest longer if needed. Also note that those on week two should perform an “exhaustion test” sometime over the weekend. Set aside some time to do as many pushups as you can in one set. You’ll use your result to determine how many pushups you do during week three.
Update: I finished week two: 10-10-8-8-11, but the last few pushups on the last set were pretty iffy. I’ll be moving on to week three next week, but am fully prepared for the possibility of having to repeat it. (Maybe twice!) Now I’m off to bike twenty miles and then to do my upper-body lifting. I didn’t bet much exercise this week, and I feel thicker than I have in a long time. My weight is up to 192 this morning, too. Too much food, not enough activity.

I just did week 3 day 1(after repeating week 2) and I was so not ready for that. I did 15:12:5 and stalled. Even now just typing this my arms are very sore =/ I will try day 1 again on Sunday, in fact, i’ll probably be trying it again on Tuesday too LOL, but I’m going to keep at it until I get it!

Finished repeat of week 2: 15/15/12/12/17. Much better than last week, but reading Pablo’s post worries me for next week.
Oh well, onward and upward.

I completed W3D3 yesterday. After falling short on D1 and D2 I’m happy to report a successful 3rd day…

I’m going to repeat W3 next week, but am much more confident after yesterday’s 121 push ups!

I just finished week two, and will do my exhaustion test over the weekend. Is it just me or does week 3 look like a bear? wow. not looking forward to that.

Week 3 is definitely a bear, but do your best and you’re going to surprise yourself at the end of it!
I went from doing 84 on W2D3 to 121 on W3D3…
Good luck!

If you are intent on continuing on a M/W/F schedule for week three, I would seriously consider doing that exhaustion test tomorrow (Saturday) instead of waiting until Sunday. I did mine on Sunday after returning from vacation and then had to launch into the much more challenging Week 3 the very next day. Bad move, and I end up failing. I’m not sure if I would have succeeded with an extra day of rest, but it couldn’t have hurt. Or… Do it Sunday, but then do Week 3 on Tu/Th/Sat.

Well done! I suspect week 03 is going to keep me behind for a bit.

W2.2D3: 15, 15, 12, 12, 22. Much better than last week!
I think I’ll take fit36’s advice re: the timing of the exhaustion test and do it tomorrow. Fingers crossed for W3!

Don’t cross your fingers when you’re doing the push ups though…

I was unable to complete W3D3.
20, 15, 15, 11, 6
I will redo this week next week, unless my husband wants to do the challenge with me. Then I will restart with him - doing “real” pushups instead of the “girly” pushups I am doing currently.

Wow. I’m amazed my skinny little arms can get my fat a** (6′4, 260) down and up that many times.
So. I felt great about myself for a fleeting moment. Then, I pulled up week 3 and noticed that I was *still* in column 3. Ouch.
See you all Monday!

I’ve been on vacation — when I did my post-week-2 exhaustion test at the end of last week, I only made it to 10 pushups (I’d been doing level 1) — nowhere near the minimum of 16 needed to continue with week 3 at that level.
I decided to drop back to level 2, week 1, and completed that successfully over the week, though I adjusted my schedule a bit (M-W-Sat, as I did some kayaking on Friday and was not up for pushups as well.)
Next week will be week 2 at level 2.
