In 2003, David Smith weighed 630 pounds.

His life was miserable. He couldn’t do the things he wanted to do. He was afraid to go outside. He seemed to have nothing to live for. Now he weighs 229.

How’d he do it? Diet pills? Surgery? Magic? Nope. He used good old-fashioned diet and exercise. Here’s the story in his own words (from his MySpace page):
My name is David Smith, I used to weigh over 630 pounds, I lost 401 pounds through diet and exercise. chrispowell.com has everthing you need to know as far as how I did it, it is a great resource if you need help. Consider it my BluePrint to success!!! My best friend Chris believed in me when others thought I was a lost cause.
There are countless websites that show my story as well, google my name and weight loss and you will see a few. This is my bodyspace it shows a lot of my before pics. I’m not afraid to show any of my pics. I want people to relize that anything is possible, if they want it.
I was recently on Oprah and I currently have some other major media stuff coming up. I’m a success story that needs to be told! My weight loss has been documented from the start on television. I recently have had major skin removal surgeries that were filmed as well. Three so far with 30 pounds removed and I have 18 feet of scars. I currently am bodybuilding and I am going to be certified through ACE to become a personal trainer soon. I have a lot going on for someone who shouldn’t be here, but I am!!!
Just remember that my past made me the strong driven man I am today, I almost died, so I know whats at stake. I’m here for a reason!!!
Stories like this are awesome. I love to hear of people overcoming their personal demons and achieving that which seems impossible. It makes me realize that my own personal goals are well with my reach.

Now you realize your mistake. The two of you should gain several hundred pounds first — then this site will get more attention when you lose it all and look buff like Chris.
the key here is not the products he is pimping. instead it shouldnt be about the sales which yuo can clearly see is happening but the method. eat in moderation though out the day. eat the right foods in the right amount. plus anyone on a reduced calory diet will loose weight. exersize and you will loose weight. put them both together and you’ll loose weight faster. anyone can do this without buying thier products.
you can use a program such as banshee alarm to set your computer to remind you of when to eat just like in the bag. you can buy the same containers for allot cheaper at big lots along with a cooler. and theres plenty of websites that has daily meal plans that work. track what you eat like has been published here such as daily plate join one of the groups for support and you have everything one needs to do this exact thing.
I am glad neither of us has so much to lose, and yet as much to gain from losing whatever weight we need to.
The point here, and for all of us, I think, is that he did it. He didn’t wait for things to get worse. He didn’t give up. He made a decision and followed through. Let’s go out and do the same
Marcia,
yes that is true. it is inspiring to know he did this. just hate when things become comertialized. its great Chris was able to help this guy. bad thing is he has become what every other fitness entertainment person has become which is over comertialized. instead of a support forum he has a sales pitch site. thats was discusts me
I think david smith had the courage to lose weight. I need to lose 100 lbs, but has no encouragement. I too, want to be like david, and drop it like it is hot. I love you david, keep up the good work. I wish you were my trainer.
My name is Lianne and I’m 22 years old. I was a bigger girl in school and was also teased and laughed at because of it. I lost 50 pounds and still struggle to keep it off. When I saw David’s story I was moved to tears….. many times. To see someone work so hard and always stay so positive. It was so awe inspiring. It just makes me want to keep working at it. David is such an amazing inspiration to people everywhere. Keep up the good work, David. You look amazing!! And you have a very sexy smile, so stop worrying! You’re beautiful! It’s going to be a lucky woman who wins all the love you have to give!
May God continue to bless you,
Lianne! (lol)
